The first is Santa Fe's GA-66 class featuring different lettering and even paint color from our previous Santa Fe runs. The second is Texas & New Orleans 1956 Southern Pacific paint scheme. Soo Line black in 4 road numbers. Soo bought these hoppers secondhand from Belt Railway of Chicago in 1950 and used them to haul stone. They were assigned to Wisconsin Central which Soo had been leasing since 1909. Note the little W.C. in the upper left corner. This group of Pennsylvania Railroad 86’ quad door boxcars was delivered in July of 1965 and initially assigned for loading at a GM plant in Indianapolis. PRR had long been a proponent of general service freight car designs but the 1960s brought a flood of new specialized cars such as these. This paint scheme will be availabe in 4 road numbers. Rio Grande took delivery of these boxcars in July of 1966. They were also assigned for loading at the GM plant in Indianapolis on the PRR. Rio Grande had no parts or assembly plants on their lines but they were part of a bridge route between Indianapolis and assembly plants in California and were thus obliged to contribute cars to the pool. Erie Lackawanna inherited this group of cabooses from Erie who received them from International Car in 1953.
